The Origin Story
In 2018 — the first year of Threls — the founders were part of the organising committee of Run Gozo, the annual road race in Gozo, Malta. That year, the committee decided to bring their team closer together through something different: a voluntary trip to Guatemala, alongside the GuateMalta Foundation, led by Fr. Anton Grech.
Fr. Anton is the kind of person you fall in love with the moment you meet him. Before the trip, he was clear with the team: this experience was for them — not the other way around. Karl, Paul, and Mark went to Guatemala to receive, to witness, to be changed.
