WillowWealth is an alternative investment platform that provides individuals with access to investment opportunities traditionally reserved for institutions or ultra-wealthy investors. The company’s primary goal is to democratise access to alternative investments, which can include assets like real estate, private credit, art, marine finance, and commercial loans, among others. By offering these options, WillowWealth aims to help investors diversify their portfolios beyond the typical stock and bond markets, which can add different types of risk and return characteristics.

WillowWealth needed a long-term technical partner capable of contributing meaningfully to the architecture and delivery of a complex, enterprise-grade investment platform — working alongside their internal engineering organisation in New York. The challenge was not simply to find skilled developers, but to find a partner who could integrate deeply with the business, contribute at an architectural level, and maintain the consistency and quality required for a platform operating in regulated financial services.
The platform required deep expertise across the full technology stack — from investor-facing front-end experience to back-end financial data architecture and DevOps infrastructure — and needed to evolve continuously as Willow Wealth expanded its product offering.
Threls became Willow Wealth's principal architecture and delivery partner, with Co-Founder Paul Cutajar embedded as the lead technical and architectural decision-maker on Threls' side. Working closely with Willow Wealth's internal engineering team in New York, Paul leads on platform architecture, technology direction, system design, and engineering standards — ensuring the solution is built to enterprise scale and can evolve with the business.
Threls manages a dedicated team of 26 senior professionals — including UX/UI designers, front-end and back-end engineers, and DevOps specialists — exclusively assigned to the Willow Wealth platform. Built on Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and React, the platform is architected for high availability, regulatory compliance, and continuous product evolution.
Threls' responsibilities span the full delivery lifecycle: contributing to architectural decisions, feature development, quality assurance, infrastructure management, and ongoing post-implementation maintenance and support. The result is a platform that today serves thousands of investors across managed portfolios, direct private market investments, and IRA retirement products.
This engagement represents one of Threls' most enduring partnerships — built on deep technical contribution, architectural leadership, and a genuine commitment to the long-term success of the platform.
