Edward Scerri is a distinguished architect and civil engineer renowned for his extensive work in Gozo. With over 20 years of experience, he has played a crucial role in shaping the island’s landscape, designing and overseeing the development of public spaces, residential areas, restaurants, restoration projects, and infrastructure. His work reflects a deep appreciation for Gozo’s architectural heritage, seamlessly blending modern functionality with historical elements. Recognising the need for a digital presence, the client sought a minimalist yet impactful website to showcase his extensive portfolio.

Initial challenge

The client had a clear vision for his website – an organised, minimalistic digital portfolio that showcased his architectural expertise. The primary challenge was to create a structured way to display his projects while maintaining an intuitive and seamless browsing experience. Given the breadth of his work, it was crucial to highlight public spaces and restoration projects in a way that emphasised their impact on the community. Additionally, the client needed a content management system (CMS) that would allow him to independently update and manage projects without technical assistance.

Our solution

To bring the client’s vision to life, we developed a custom website that aligns with Edward Scerri’s vision. Key features of our solution included:

Minimalist UX/UI Design: We focused on clean layouts, ample whitespace, and high-resolution imagery to let the architecture take centre stage.
Structured Project Categorisation: A dynamic project listing page was implemented, allowing users to browse through different architectural projects, filtering them by category.
Detailed Project Pages: Each project page includes location details, date range, a written description, and an image gallery for a comprehensive presentation.
CMS: We built an easy-to-use admin panel enabling admins to update project details, add new projects, and manage categories effortlessly. Additionally, the system enables admins to view and manage submissions from the Contact Us form, streamlining communication with potential clients and collaborators.

The result

The new website provides Edward Scerri with a professional and visually compelling digital portfolio that effectively showcases his architectural contributions. Its minimalist design reflects his aesthetic vision while ensuring an intuitive user experience. With an easy-to-manage content system, the client can independently update projects and engage efficiently with potential clients. Now, his designs, his philosophy, and his contributions can be appreciated by a wider audience, ensuring that his architectural legacy continues to inspire.
