The brief.
PANOBLU™ is a 360° Panoramic Vision System designed exclusively for superyachts.
Created to continuously record life at sea in full-sphere interactive panoramic images, the maritime camera captures, stores, tags and organises a panorama library of the yacht’s global footprint.
Ideal for superyacht owners, superyacht captains and charter guests alike, the advanced imaging system delivers a complete 360-degree vision from the yacht and its surroundings. Whether in a remote location aboard an expedition yacht or explorer yacht, cruising the Mediterranean hotspots on a megayacht, even sailing yachts and luxury cruise ships benefit from the technology that will capture frame-by-frame a catalogue of far-reaching horizons and once in a lifetime shots.
The result.
A team of developers was assigned to this project which mainly consisted on developing a backend system.
Responsible for building the PANOBLU™ OB Server and PANOBLU™ Cloud, our team focused on implementing a highly-optimized system. Provided that internet connection is not that reliable when out at sea, we had to make sure that the system would still be highly accessible.
The PANOBLU™ OB Server increases the local storage, and content is copied from the 360° Camera. It event enhances the on-board multi-user experience while reducing the need for internet usage. A sophisticated and intelligent background process is also responsible to make sure that content is replicated from the camera onto the OB Server and Cloud.
In PANOBLU™ Cloud, we had to make sure that content captured on the superyachts is made accessible anytime and anywhere. It allows the user to select a selection of panoramas and be able to push them on the web, in accordance with the privacy and security profiles.
